“An Informative Non-Fiction Children’s Resource Written In Rhyme To Teach
Facts About The Bones In The Human Skeleton”
This book is the first in a series of nine books (THE SUM OF OUR PARTS) on various systems and parts of the human body. The series includes books on circulation, respiration, the nervous system, skin, digestion and other systems.
Written in rhyme, "No Bones About It" takes the reader through all the bones in the human skeleton from the toes to the head. The jaunty rhymes are supported by playful cartoon-like illustrations, interesting factoids and educational activities. This is an ideal resource for older grade school or middle school children who are beginning their study of human anatomy.
Bill Kirk says his inspiration for the book was his grandson who was learning about the skeleton in seventh grade science class several years ago. “Some of those Greek and Latin derived terms aren’t especially easy. So, I figured there must be a fun way to make the technical terms stick.”
